About this Nominee
Those who love him are promoting him – He would never do this himself and that is what makes this nomination right! He is a proud Orangevale resident who grew up in this community and became a family-owned business partner of L&M Liquor and Deli. Derek (Rick) is passionate about supporting local and youth organizations, and events, such as Pow Wow Days, FFA, OV History Project, the Orangevale Chamber of Commerce, and so much more.
He believes in the importance of preserving and promoting the history of our town, which is why he has been a strong advocate for the Orangevale History Museum. Derek (Rick) has contributed to many projects that helped the museum get ready for its grand opening, such as providing paint supplies, baseboards, a temporary sign, a repaved patio, a legacy tree, handrails, and catering for the volunteers and members. He was honored to be the main point of contact and right-hand man to the project manager and the event coordinator for these initiatives.
