About this Nominee
Hello Orangevale! I love our town and have so much fun volunteering and also involve my nine year old daughter in the volunteering whenever possible. I currently serve on the Leadership Team for Girl Scout Almond Service Unit 135 as the Cookie Manager. I'm also Cookie Manager for my daughter's Troop 2007, here in Orangevale. The Troop cookies live in my family room during the months of February and March. The Troop meetings are held at my house and I love welcoming all her Troop friends over on Thursdays. So far during this Girl Scout season, our Troop has made birthday boxes for the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank and Valentines for Seniors for Helping Hands OV.
I am a proud member of the Orangevale Woman's Club and enjoy participating in the Arts and Culture Committee and (very soon) the Sunshine Committee where we reach out to members who need a little extra cheering up.
I also look for any opportunities to volunteer with the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Community Foundation. I've volunteered at the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank off and on for around seven years, done a little bit with HART, and love participating in the annual Big Day of Service.
If I'm ever feeling down about not doing enough for our town (due to the full time job and all my other responsibilities), I look for a small way to make a positive change. I'll go on a walk and fill a bag of trash or I'll send a homemade card to encourage someone. Little things can add up!
